Religious Appreciation and Art Competition Held in South Jakarta

South Jakarta Culture Sub-agency holds Religious Appreciation and Art Competition 2024.

The program opened by South Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Edi Sumantri, is held from July 16 to 20, 2024 at South Jakarta Art and Culture Training Center, Jalan Asem Baris Raya, Kebon Baru Urban Village, Tebet Sub-district.

Edi appreciated South Jakarta Culture Sub-agency for providing this program to maintain the existence of the art of religious music so that it continues to live and thrive, maintained from time to time and not eroded by other developing cultures.

"I hope that all participants will show their abilities and compete well," he said, Tuesday (7/16).

Edi added that the courage to compete is a form of experience that will always provide enthusiasm to continue to be involved and collaborate in preserving Betawi arts and culture in South Jakarta.

According to him, this activity will continue to give rise to a generation that enjoys and loves music with religious nuances and in the end they can have a positive influence on other young people.

"The winner of this competition will represent South Jakarta at province level," he added.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Culture Sub-agency Head, Rusmantoro, explained this activity is carried out in an effort to preserve art in Jakarta and explore the community's artistic potential, especially in arts with religious nuances.

"There are five categories being contested, namely Qasidah, Nasyid, Marawis, Hadroh and Pop acoustic. Each category is filled with 11-15 student art groups, studios and assemblies," he explained.

Each categories will have five winners. First, second and third winners will represent South Jakarta at province level competition.
